What to bring
What to Bring on Safari
If this is your first safari, don’t worry we’ve made packing simple. Please remember that the maximum luggage allowance on light aircraft is 20kg (44 lbs) per person, so aim to pack light. Laundry services are available on request.
Photography Equipment
A safari provides endless opportunities for incredible photos, and having the right gear will help you capture every moment.
Telephoto lens: A 300mm or longer lens is ideal. A 100–400mm zoom adds versatility, while a wide-angle lens is perfect for landscapes.
Additional lenses: A macro lens or a second camera body can be useful, but consider the weight limits.
Camera bag: Choose a soft, durable backpack or a sturdy Pelican-style case. Ensure it offers good dust protection.
Memory cards & storage: Bring plenty of extra memory cards. A portable storage device is helpful for backups.
Lens cleaning kit: Dust is unavoidable, so pack an air blower, microfiber cloths, and cleaning solution.
Spare batteries & charger: While inverters are often available in safari vehicles, it’s best to carry enough batteries for several days.
Tripod: Helpful for landscapes, night-sky photography, and steady long-exposure shots.
Filters: A polarizer is very versatile. UV filters protect your lenses, and neutral density filters enhance sky detail.
External flash: Useful for balancing shadows in daylight or shooting in overcast conditions.
Binoculars: Essential for wildlife viewing we recommend one pair per person.
